On June 22, OpenAI released Daybreak and the full version of GPT-5.5-Cyber for trusted defenders. The number that matters is not the model name. It is the direction of the work. OpenAI says its updated cyber model reached 85.6% on CyberGym, beating GPT-5.5 at 81.8%. It can scan code, trace risk, test patches, and help move from finding a problem to fixing it.
That is a big deal. But the bigger deal is what it reveals about every business, not just security teams. The machine is moving from answer machine to action machine. It does not just tell you what might be wrong. It helps repair the thing. That means information is getting cheaper again. Diagnosis is getting cheaper. First drafts are getting cheaper. Even some fixes are getting cheaper.
So what gets expensive? The person who can decide what to fix first. The manager who can keep the team calm while the tools change. The leader who can turn speed into profit, not panic. That is the new ROI. Not just return on investment. Return on Individual.
The tool is faster than the team
Gallup's newest AI-at-work data shows half of U.S. employees now use AI at least a few times a year. Daily use is at 13%, and 28% use it a few times a week or more. This is no longer a side experiment. AI is inside normal work.
Microsoft's 2026 Work Trend Index points the same way. It studied trillions of Microsoft 365 signals and surveyed 20,000 AI users in 10 countries. The theme was simple: agents are taking on more execution, so human agency matters more. That is the sentence every CEO should tape to the wall.
OpenAI says GPT-5.5-Cyber reached 85.6% on CyberGym in single-model tests, the highest score it has measured from one model. The machine layer is getting faster. The human layer has to get wiser.
Here is the problem. Tools scale faster than trust. A company can buy AI in one quarter. It cannot buy judgment, calm, courage, and culture that fast. When the tool gets smarter but the human system stays weak, work does not feel easier. It feels louder. More alerts. More drafts. More dashboards. More change. Less peace.
The real leak is energy
Gallup's 2026 State of the Global Workplace report says only 20% of employees around the world are engaged. It also estimates low engagement cost the world economy about $10 trillion in lost productivity in 2025. That is not a chatbot problem. That is a human energy problem.
Think about the math in plain English. Companies are spending hard money to make work faster while people are losing the will to give their best work. That is like putting a bigger engine in a car with no driver, low oil, and bad brakes. You may go faster, but you may not get where you want to go.
Deloitte's 2026 human capital research says 7 in 10 business leaders want to be fast and nimble over the next three years. That sounds right. But speed is not the same as strength. A brittle team breaks faster. A clear team learns faster. A trusted team tells the truth faster. That is where the money is.
Return on Individual is the new ROI
This is the Actual Intelligence point. For years, the edge was knowing more. Better data. Better memos. Better analysis. AI just made that edge common. If every team can rent smart answers, smart answers are not the moat.
The moat is the operating system inside the person. Character when the incentive is ugly. Critical thinking when the model sounds right but is wrong. Emotional intelligence when the room is tense. Grit when the first plan fails. Elastic intelligence when the map changes. That is Actual Intelligence.
For a business, this is not soft. It is time, money, and energy. Better people waste less time in fear. Better managers prevent drama before it gets expensive. Better teams keep more trust, more speed, more profits, more passion, more peace, more partnership, and more purpose.
For a person, the deal is even clearer. AI can give you the answer. It cannot give you a spine. It cannot give you taste. It cannot calm your body before a hard conversation. It cannot choose your purpose. It can multiply what is already in you. So the best investment is not only a better tool. It is a better individual.
The next winners will not be the companies with the most information. Information is everywhere now. The winners will be the people and cultures with the strongest human operating system. Start there. Take the free diagnostic and the culture test at actualintelligenceos.com.
